What we’re looking for
Working closely with the ER Manager, you will provide managers and colleagues across all business areas with accurate HR advice and support throughout the employee lifecycle, including induction and probation queries, maternity and paternity administration and disciplinary and grievance case management. You will ensure outstanding customer focus by continuing to deliver best in class HR support to all internal customer groups.
Key accountabilities:-
• Support line managers with all employee relations queries, predominantly via the telephone, whilst escalating complex cases to the ER Manager
• Support disciplinary or grievance hearings and coach line managers throughout the process
• Drive compliance of our company policies and procedures through strong relationships, coaching and advice
• Monitor line manager capability in people related issue, and feedback any potential knowledge gaps to both the ER Manager and the L&D team
• Work with the wider HR team to ensure the consistency of communication, policy and practice and the sharing of information
• Ensure the timely completion of ER administration
• Utilise your knowledge of HR best practice to recommend ideas or initiatives that could help develop the HR function
Who you are
Essential Skills & Experience
• Previous experience gained in a generalist HR or specialist ER environment
• Proven track record in ER case management including disciplinary, grievance and absence cases
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Experience in building and maintaining strong internal relationships
• The ability to remain assertive and resilient in face of challenges and conflicting priorities
• Excellent communication skills
Desirable Skills & Experience
• CIPD Qualified or working towards a qualification
• Experience within a fast paced retail environment
• Prior experience of writing employment policies and procedures
• Experience working within a HR Shared Service environment
