We are currently looking for an IT Infrastructure and Security Specialist to join our team! You will be responsible for administering the group’s IT Infrastructure and Security systems and will provide high level 3rd line technical support and help deliver on key IT projects!

Customer / Strategy / Plan

  • Providing third line support and technical expertise across all technologies that underpin IT services ensuring quick resolution of incidents and requests within SLA
  • Provisioning, maintaining and supporting all Virtual Environments which consists of the entire administration of the environment and all services that are hosted within including creating and maintaining Virtual Servers and physically supporting these with adding, fixing and replacing parts
  • Creating, configuring and monitoring alerts, dashboards and reports on all environments to ensure all services are being monitored and are prioritised to proactively prevent occurrence of incidents to IT services and identify improvements to the infrastructure, in accordance with business needs and fine tuning these to prevent alert fatigue
  • Configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting backup and replication jobs ensuring all systems are backed up daily, monthly and yearly, creating replication jobs for new services and any issues are dealt with the highest priority
  • Configuring and managing deployment tools used to deployed business solutions such as applications, updates, certificates for all endpoints leveraging existing tools
  • Analysing capacity and performance of systems to ensure resources are sufficient to meet business requirements in a cost-effective manner
  • Working closely with developers and third parties to help deliver business projects and initiatives

Service

  • Act as a further point of escalation for diagnosing and troubleshooting infrastructure and security tickets on the Service Desk in line with SLA’s
  • Supporting Problem Management by proactively reviewing incident history to identify reoccurring incidents to improve service levels
  • Adding to and updating all Knowledge Management systems to help support the Service Desk with knowledge transfer and help drive First Contact Fix rates
  • Train and develop the Service Desk team on new solutions and services to help them support them to a high standard

People/Leadership

  • Provide support and guidance to IT Infrastructure & Security team to a high standard
  • Support with training and development of the IT Infrastructure & Security team

Financial / Commercials

  • Generate and implement ideas for cost savings and continuous improvement to processes / service levels
  • To ensure best value is achieved with all hardware and software purchases.

Risk and process

  • Create and maintain high level and detailed documentation including scope of work documents, topologies
  • Find opportunities to improve repetitive processes through automation where appropriate
  • To constantly seek potential improvements for all IT processes to enhance service levels
  • Responsible for delivering assigned enablement projects to time and budget to achieve agreed objectives
  • Ensure that all changes follow the internal change management processes

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Technical

  • Microsoft Certification
  • Windows Server (2016 and above)
  • Windows Server Virtualisation technologies such as Hyper-V, Veeam
  • Windows Server Infrastructure technologies including Active Directory, Azure, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, IIS, File Server, Clustering
  • Windows 10 Desktop
  • Office 365, Exchange & Mimecast
  • Storage architecture (SAN, NAS, DFS)
  • Backup / DR technologies (Veeam)
  • ·         Good knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and applications
  • ·         Experience with Windows Autopilot & SCCM
  • Experience configuring monitoring tools (Veeam One)
  • Automation using PowerShell
