Do you have a passion for Sustainability and want to be part of a huge initiative to be carbon neutral by 2030? If so, this is the role for you! Reporting into our Technical Manager, you will focus specifically on delivery of our Environmental Leadership initiative across the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist implementation of environmental strategies, policy, and action plans, to ensure corporate sustainable development
  • Organise and attend planning meetings (inc. Sustainability Council), note taking, recording actions updating sustainability action plans
  • Work x-functionally with departments across the group, to aid the development of departmental plans that identify key actions, initiatives, and milestone for delivery of our 2030 plans
  • Research sustainability initiatives and offer sustainability subject matter expertise on medium-long term legislative impacts and opportunities related to sustainability for the group
  • Gather and monitor environmental data from suppliers
  • Audit, analyse and report environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies
  • Work with Data & Insights team to develop and enhance our reporting and build our Environmental Leadership Scorecard
  • Coordinate sustainability projects and initiatives across the Group by collaborating with teams to ensure they deliver against the Group’s ESG objectives
  • Promote environmental best practice and support environmental awareness campaigns across the Group.
  • Assist writing copy for websites, newsletters, programmes, and green information

Knowledge and Experience Required

Essential 

  • Self-motivation, resilience, and a positive change champion
  • Passion for environmental and sustainability issues
  • Experience in supporting an environmental agenda in an organisation
  • Initiative-taker - comfortable working autonomously and with colleagues at all levels to deliver value
  • Attention to detail and precise record keeping skills
  • Clean Driving License 

Desirable

  • Knowledge of sustainability/environmental legislation
  • Specific in-depth knowledge of Packaging Waste Regulations / EPR
  • Good understanding and experience of procurement practices & logistics operations
  • A sustainability related degree - Environmental Sciences or similar
