The position is open to both internal and external candidates.

Purpose:

To lead the roll out of our nationwide Trade events that will include.

  • Trade evenings x10
  • Trade mornings x30
  • Supplier coaching days (TBC)

To achieve this, you will need to liaise with all top tier suppliers/stores and coordinate/plan the events over the year. You will also need to attend each event to ensure smooth running of the operation. As the role is nationally based, the role will involve large amounts of travel, including staying away from home. The role is 37.5 hours per week, which will include working evenings (Trade Nights). The role will also come with a company vehicle.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver a total of 40 trade events nationwide
  • Deliver supplier coaching days for our store teams
  • Organise the top tier suppliers to ensure attendance to our events
  • Work with internal departments regarding support of the events, IE logistics, marketing etc…
  • Find and work with external suppliers for catering and other services needed
  • Gain understanding of competitor events and integrate ‘the good’ to our events
  • Look for opportunities from external companies for Trade Night prizes

  • Coach and guide store engagement ensuring seamless delivery of events

Financial / Commercials

  • Deliver incentives to drive ‘on the night spend’ as well as on going spend
  • Entice non-Topps Tiles customers to join TradeClub incremental spend
  • Work within budgets set to ensure no overspends
  • Company Credit card and Company car will be provided

Risk and process

  • Access to sensitive data, including product pricing and client information

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

Essential

  • Organised & structured approach with an ability to prioritise tasks based on business needs
  • Friendly and approachable
  • Self-motivated with a desire to exceed expectations
  • Driving license
  • Commercial awareness with a good business acumen
  • Existing knowledge of event coordination
  • Confident decision maker and effective problem solver
  • Flexible approach with the ability to take the initiative
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Ability to extract data and create tables/graphs to provide business insight

Desirable

  • High level of product knowledge and fitting processes to ensure accurate information is provided to all customers
  • Previous experience of successful field-based roles
