Do you have a passion for Sustainability and want to support the delivery of Sustainability strategies across the group, and specifically on the delivery of our near-term target to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 (Scope 1 & 2) and carbon reduction targets across our value supply chain?  If so, this is the role for you! Reporting into our Technical and Sustainability Manager, you will focus on the delivery of our Environmental Leadership initiatives across the group. This role would suit a graduate looking for their first role within Sustainability!

Key Accountabilities 

Collaboration: Engage with external Sustainability Consultants to continuously improve the data quality of our carbon inventory over Scopes 1,2 and 3.
Carbon Footprint Reduction: Identifying opportunities to reduce the company's carbon footprint through energy-efficient practices.
Strategic Planning: Designing and implementing long-term sustainability plans that align with the company's vision and mission.
Data Collection and Analysis: Gathering and analysing data on energy usage, waste generation, and resource consumption to develop actionable insights.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with environmental reporting requirements (EPR, WEEE, ESOS, Plastic tax) and stay up to date with all legislation.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with suppliers and other stakeholders to foster sustainable practices throughout the supply chain to reduce carbon emissions and waste.
Reporting: Preparing reports and presentations that form part of Quarterly Sustainability Council meetings highlighting progress and achievements. Assist in writing copy for annual reports, websites and newsletters.
Education and Training: Create Sustainability content to educate employees on sustainability practices and their importance

Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required

Essential                             

  • Self-motivation, resilience, and a positive change champion
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Passion for environmental and sustainability issues
  • Experience in supporting an environmental agenda in an organisation
  • Initiative-taker - comfortable working autonomously and with colleagues at all levels to deliver value
  • Attention to detail and precise record keeping skills

Desirable

  • Experience and understanding of measuring carbon and reporting inventory across Scopes 1, 2 and 3.
  • Specific knowledge of SECR and TCFD reporting requirements
  • Specific knowledge of (EPR, WEEE, ESOS, Plastic Tax)
  • A sustainability related degree - Environmental Sciences or similarWhat we will do for you!
